The history of Army Public School Garrison Junior Lahore Cantt can be traced fifty three years back to March 1954, when it was established as the first European type School for the children of the Defence Personnel. It was established at Montgomery Road, Lahore Cantonment. The opening ceremony was performed by Air Marshal Cannon. It underwent many changes. With the passage of time, this tide drifted it to its present location, then an old Artillery Officers Mess at 28 Abid Majeed Road in 1962 under the name of Cantonment Public High School for Girls, was established. A primary school at the time of inception, was thus gradually raised to a High School, its Matric class appeared for the Intermediate and Secondary Board Examination in March 1968 for the first time. However, it was destined to become a Junior School once again when in 1983 it acquired its present name, Army Public School Garrison Junior is serving as a foundation institution for its senior branches namely Army Public School& College for Girls (Azam Garrison) and Garrison Boys High School . In view of the growing strength of pupils (over and above 2100) new blocks with bright and airy classrooms have been added time and again along with the new administration block, offices and a spacious staff room for more than a hundred teachers.
